What an exciting weekend for Sheila Allison at the BC Masters Indoor Championships which was held at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops, March 29-31, 2019. During one happy hour of gambling casino chips won at dinner, she won a little over $300 of real take-home money which she offered to donate to the Greyhounds. At the meet, Sheila won 8 medals (including 7 golds) in all of the running events from the 60m to the 1500m, plus gold in the triple jump and the 4x200m relay. However she received 3 puncture wounds in her ankle from a collision with Marvin during the hectic baton passing exchanges. Despite blood dripping from her ankle and with her heel hanging out of her track shoe, Sheila completed her lap of the 4x200m relay, helping her W65 team of Deborah Lee, Karen Shook and Urith Hayley break the Canadian record (2:45.37).
Three more relay teams broke records. The M75 4x400m relay team of Arthur Gee, Don Currie (non Greyhound), Karl Mey and Surinder Shah broke the Canadian record (6:20.78). Breaking BC records were the M45 4x200m team of Faraaz Taiyab, Randy Sheldon (non Greyhound), Sam Walker and Marvin Johnson (1:47.31). The relay team of Jess Aujla, new member Steve Law, Mark Phillips and Rob Smith broke the M50 4x200m record (1:57.84).
