Karl Mey, our most senior male Greyhounds member, is competing in the M85 age group at the World Masters Championships in Tampere, Finland.    

Karl is having an outstanding start to these championships, winning 2 Silver medals in his first 2 events, the 100m and 800m.  His 100m time of 18.25 seconds was only 0.25 seconds off Norm Lesage’s BC record.  But Karl’s 800m silver-medal time of 3:54.86 is a new BC Masters record.  The listed M85 record time is 4:07.53 by Les Leyland 19 years ago in 2003.

Karl won his third silver medal in the 200m at the WMA Championships in Tampere, Finland.  His time of 39.17 seconds broke Norm Lesage’s BC M85 record of 39.99 seconds.
