Greyhounds and Student Volunteers

U. Hayley

This year, the Greyhounds ran a very successful partnership with a NSS Leadership Class.  In return for a couple of sessions in sprint training, students volunteered at the 48th Canadian Athletics Masters National Championship in Langley BC, August 11-13.

Growing volunteerism in youth was a key goal of the program, led by Susan Chow.  The students in their red shirts, are seen in the background of almost every photo at the meet, manning the registration desk, checking in athletes at the call room tent, raking sand pits, retrieving implements, pulling tape, raising crossbars, moving hurdles or steeplechase barriers, running results between the finish line to the awards table and posting results.  see link to photos
